benius - my micro-social network
the idea was born from a pun with "bad news" that i had while staring at the wall. the initial premise was simple: "what if i made a website that showed a piece of 'bad news' every time it was accessed?". the concept ended up evolving and became an anonymous micro-social network experience, with fast and minimalist dynamics.
in practice, the interaction is super direct: you come across a sticky note in a pixel art aesthetic (referencing the gameboy color palette). with a simple tap or by hitting f5, a random message from another user is loaded. with a double click, the space is yours to write and send your own message, completely anonymously. but the real focus of this project was behind the scenes. i took advantage of the application to build a solid architecture and apply good software engineering practices with a modern stack:
- backend: developed in java springboot, guided by clean code patterns and a clear separation of responsibilities to ensure scalability and decoupling.
- frontend: built with react, next.js, and postgresql, delivering a fast and optimized user interface.
- infrastructure & ci/cd: i deployed the entire environment on my own linux server, containerizing the application with docker and configuring nginx as a reverse proxy. to top it off, i set up pipelines in github actions: now, every push to the repository triggers an automatic deploy straight to the server.
it was an excellent challenge to integrate end-to-end fullstack development with real and automated infrastructure management. feel free to analyze the project and give me feedback!
